Match number: 1535The 'A' team had to shuffle the pack once again as Tim Buzaglo and Jim McDermott were both injured,Ben Spencer had gone off to university and a different keeper was available. It was that keeper, Wayne Looseley, who made an excellent stop low to his right after only three minutes to deny Albury and put Weysiders on the right track. After that it was a game dominated by the home team who never looked under threat again.
Derek Over had a fine match at the back, as did Chris Rayner, and Will Daniels showed some lovely touches in centre midfield. The first goal came after eleven minutes when a through ball was chased by Matt Hockin and his cross was headed home by an unfortunate Albury defender.
Weysiders should really have added to their score, but Kevin Barrow, Nick Butler and others missed chances. It was not until the fifty-second minute that the home team doubled their lead. After a running foul on Kevin Barrow the referee finally gave a free-kick which was sweetly dispatched from twenty-five yards into the top left-hand corner by Spenny Hoskin. Still the 'A' team should have done their goal difference a power of good, but Nick Butler, who otherwise had a good game, missed several more chances before the referee, after a mysterious eight minutes of injury time, brought the game to a close.
