19.05.19: Weysiders Golf Day The Fifth Weysiders Golf Day took place at Merrist Wood Golf Club and was won by Simon McKeown.
15.05.19: Weysiders Golf Day 2019 The fifth Weysiders Golf Day will take place this Saturday at Merrist Wood before the End of Season Dinner. Participants will be: Harry Barlow, Steve Hill, Stuart Jones, Simon ("maybe") McKeown, Chris Murch, Phil Ney, Tony Ney, James Pierrepont, Freddie Richards, Jack Shaw. Weysiders Reserves can't stop the league leaders 27.11.18: Chris Rayner 1957-2018 We have a lost a great club man in the last couple of days. Chris Rayner died on Sunday from a heart attack at the tender age of 60. In two spells at Weysiders, January 1983 to January 1986 and September 1998 to October 2008, he made 270 appearances and scored three goals. He was centre-back for the Saturday and Sunday first teams at the height of their success in the mid-1980s, including the all-conquering team of 1983-4. He skippered the side at times too. His three goals were in a 10-0 win, a 13-1 win and a 3-4 defeat. It is safe to say that his contribution as a defender was more significant! He was also selected for the Intermediate League Rep side. He won five leagues and three cups as a player with Weysiders. He was joint manager of the A team in 2002-3, 2004-5 and 2006-7. He was also Social Secretary in 2001-2. Renowned for his sense of humour, Chris always brought a smile to the face of his team mates and remained friends with his ex-club mates long after he had stopped playing. He leaves a teenage daughter. He will be sorely missed.

Final score harsh on the Reserves 07.10.18: The last time we had an 8-6 scoreline... was 38 years ago, on 4 October 1980. Sadly, it was a defeat that day, at home to Farncombe Wanderers. It was an extraordinarily windy day with the wind blowing straight down the pitch. We were almost literally blown away in the first half, going in at the break 7-1 down! Of course, with the wind behind us in the second half, it was our turn to dominate, but we could only managed to win the half 5-1, to end up 6-8 losers. We finished second that season. From 4 September, we will be training at the Surrey Sports Park on Tuesday evenings (no change) from 9 till 10 on a 3G pitch. The SSP has given priority to university students, so we have had to give way. 19.07.18: Pre-season friendlies This is a list of pre-season friendlies organised to date: 18.07.18: Reserve Team Assistant Manager Phil Ney will be Assistant Manager for the Reserves this season. 05.07.18: Leagues for next season Over the summer the committee took the decision to drop both teams down to the Guildford & Woking Alliance League. The committee felt that we would be more competitive on this league. 29.06.18: Training Pre-season training will start on THURSDAY 5 JULY at 7pm at Shalford Park, and will continue every TUESDAY and THURSDAY throughout July, starting at the same time. New players are welcome.
